We are feeling more and more positive and optimistic about tourism in Ethiopia!

​

We have ourselves travelled widely in the country during the last many months,

experiencing the warmest of welcomes from the Ethiopian people, as always.

​

We attended the Timkat festival both in Lalibela last January and in Axum this January, with thousands of Ethiopians from all over the country celebrating their very special Epiphany period. Incidentally, friends living in Lalibela sent us photos this year showing numerous foreign tourists there. 

We also had an enjoyable small-group 'Ancient, Historic Ethiopia' tour with enthusiastic guests last April, despite the Foreign Office warnings.

Last July, we had a very enjoyable 'Tribes, Mountains and Caves' tour in southern Ethiopia and in November we ourselves spent a sunny and peaceful two weeks in Lalibela with no signs of trouble.  Despite remaining tensions in the northern Amhara region, we are very much looking forward to the coming months and expect to see a real recovery in the tourism sector,

in Ethiopia as in many places across the world.

As you may already know, we had our first hugely exciting 'Kenyan Experience' in November 2003, complete with its three-day Maasai Mara big game safari

as its climax. We completed our second such tour this last November, again with great enjoyment from all concerned. In 2025, we are putting the tour about six weeks earlier than before, at the beginning of October, and we hope that this change will allow other people to join us at last.

This last August we spent a whole month in the north of the wonderful island of Madagascar, planning and exploring, ready for our new tour there.

We are now referring to our southern tour as

'Madagascan Odyssey - the magical southern route'

while our brand-new northern tour is becoming

'Magnificent Madagascar - the colourful north of the island'.

Both these tours are now in our summer calendar for 2025,

and we shall be very excited to travel with both new and established guests

on these colourful and unmissable tours.
